Safety Talks - C2O Americas
In January 2025, Paddy Tyrrell visited C2O Americas sites along the Gulf Coast of America. Paddy a General Manager from our Transmission & Distribution Division shared his powerful personal story during safety talks across multiple sites. Inspired by Paddy’s heartfelt message, we’re sharing four key insights from his journey to extend his important message to an even wider audience.
Remember, safety is everyone's responsibility.
Safety isn't just personal-it's a team effort. By looking out for each other, we can prevent accidents and save lives.
1. "A routine job can change everything-stay vigilant."
My accident happened during a routine task. Safety requires focus every time-there's no such thing as 'just another job.
2. "Your safety report today could save a life tomorrow."
I reported my faulty equipment but didn't push for action.
Reporting concerns is vital, but follow-up is just as important.
3."You are empowered to say NO to unsafe conditions."
I knew my gear wasn't right and regret not speaking up.
Saying NO to unsafe work protects you and your team.
4. “Check your equipment, it's your lifeline."
A clogged carabiner caused my fall. Always inspect your gear-small issues can lead to life-changing consequences.
