Roisin plays a key role in getting our people where they need to be – coordinating the moves, travel and practical details that sit behind every project across Europe, Australia and North America. Having worked on C2O Group projects on a roster herself, she brings a first-hand understanding of what our people need when they're working away from home.
In this interview, Roisin shares what a great employee experience looks like and how her team supports people from the moment they accept a role.
With people regularly moving between Europe, Australia and North America to support client projects, what does a great employee experience look like, and how does your team help make that happen?
A great employee experience means people feel supported and informed from the moment they accept a role – not just once they arrive on site.
Our team coordinates each stage of the journey, keeps employees updated and makes sure the practical details are taken care of.
Global mobility is a key part of what C2O Group does. How do you and your team ensure the right managers, engineers and craftspeople are deployed where they’re needed most?
It takes close coordination across recruitment, operations, project teams, clients and our people. We look at each project’s requirements, the individual’s experience and competencies, visa eligibility, availability and readiness to mobilise.
Priorities can change quickly, so maintaining accurate information and communicating closely with everyone involved allows us to respond and deploy the right people where they can add the most value.
Having worked on C2O Group projects on a roster, how has that experience shaped your understanding of what our people need when working away from home?
It gave me a genuine understanding of the challenges that come with working away from home – long days, travel and time away from family can all have an impact.
It showed me how important reliable travel arrangements, suitable accommodation, clear information and having someone available to help can be. That experience influences how I approach mobilisation now.
You spend a lot of time organising travel for others. When it comes to your own adventures, what are some of your favourite destinations and why?
I would say it’s between Cambodia, Thailand and Japan. Each is incredibly beautiful, with a unique culture, landscape and way of life that feels very different from Ireland and Australia.
