Hazardous Area Electrician

To be successful in this role you will require experience in the petrochemical / Oil & Gas industries and hold the required competencies for working in hazardous areas. Proven experience of installation, maintenance, commissioning, fault finding etc. is essential. Responsibilities will include:

• Have in-depth knowledge of Hazardous Area Codes and Standards; 
• Ensure that the standard job specifications and standards for all work activities are followed; 
• Be able to conduct Hazardous Area Inspections for Instrumentation, Controls and Power equipment; 
• Installation/Termination of Switchboards, Panels, Motors,Light and Power and instrumentation; 
• Carry out point to point, IR, Megger tests etc on safety critical devices/systems and cables according to the safety critical procedures; and 
• Well-developed fault finding, diagnostic and trouble shooting skills teamed with an ability to interpret technical drawings

The following are mandatory to be a successful candidate:

• Trade qualified Electrician with appropriate licensing; 
• Hazardous Area Certification; 
• HA experience. Minimum 3 years; 
• Work safely in the construction industry (White card) or equivalent; 
• Able to work a 4 week on, 1 week off roster.
