Project Details
The West Gate Tunnel Project will end Melbourne's reliance on the West Gate Bridge by building a new tunnel and new links to the port, the city and CityLink. Here's what we're building:
• Twin Tunnels
• Second river crossing
• 4 new through lanes on the West Gate Freeway
• Express lanes
• 2.5km elevated veloway above Footscray Road
• 14km of new and upgraded walking and cycling paths
• Extending Wurundjeri Way
C2O Australia supports the project in several different ways, with the core business providing electrical contracting services that facilitate site establishment and maintain project momentum. We also contribute specialized engineering services, HVOA services, and high voltage installation and testing, including cable jointing and termination. Our specialist resources are deployed on both the surface and tunnel works.

Services Provided
Construction:
- Supplying experienced resources, plant, and equipment covering electrical, intelligent traffic services (ITS), telecoms, and management services. Providing high voltage maintenance, site establishment, and TBM support during the tunneling phase. Ensuring efficient project progression and adherence to quality standards through specialized leadership.
Commissioning:
- Supplying experienced resources, Plant and Equipment covering Electrical, ITS, Telecoms and Management Services.
- Ensuring efficient project progression and adherence to quality standards through specialized leadership.
High Voltage Testing and HV/MV Electrical Operations
- Provide High Voltage Operating Authority, High Voltage operators, testing and commissioning resources including primary and secondary.
Intelligent Traffic systems
- Provide the ITS lead to execute the construction and commissioning of cameras, sensors, communication infrastructure, and traffic variable message signs, ramp metering, and intelligent traffic lights.
